MY DEAD DAD’S PORNO TAPES / MICHAEL BARKER

My Dead Dad’s Porno Tapes continues to dominate the festival circuit with screenings and awards worldwide. The film recently took home two awards at the Ottawa International Animation Festival: The Canadian Film Institute * Institut canadien du film Award for Best Canadian Animation and the Vimeo Award, who had some very kind words to say:

“Honest, funny, nostalgic and incredibly inventive, it tells the story of a young man sifting through his late father’s belongings in an attempt to uncover the intimate details of his life. A perfectly arranged menagerie of old film footage, audio recordings and meticulously crafted stop motion animation, it is a beautiful tribute to a complicated but loving and devoted father and son relationship.”

Short of the week wrote up a beautiful review with their post of the film.

The film has also been shortlisted by the International Documentary Association for 2018.
