MY DEAD DAD’S PORNO TAPES / MICHAEL BARKER

Outsider editor Michael Barker sweeps the film festival circuit with My Dead Dad’s Porno Tapes, a short documentary directed by rising Toronto filmmaker Charlie Tyrell. Narrated by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer), Tyrell seeks to better understand his emotionally distant late-father through the personal belongings he left behind… including a stack of VHS dirty movies.

Perhaps the most impressive, is its premiere a Sundance Film Festival, which has introduced global audiences to some of the most groundbreaking films of the past three decades, including Boyhood, Beast of the Southern Wild, Fruitvale Station, Whiplash, The End of the Tour, Little Miss Sunshine, Reservoir Dogs, An Inconvenient Truth, Precious and Napoleon Dynamite.
